How to Have a Successful First Date, Try an Art Fair

By Chuck R Stewart

First dates are always a little intimidating. It is the turning point moment in a relationship. If the first date goes well, a second will most likely come to follow but if it goes badly then its the end of the road. The location and activity of your first date is very important. If its too personal, the date will probably be overwhelming but if it is too crowded ,you wont be able to get to know one another. A great place for a first date is an art fair. Art fairs are populated, but also provide a chance to talk and learn about the other person.

Don't fret about what to talk about on your date, it puts too much pressure on you both. Your date should flow naturally, if you have to force conversation after the first ten minutes or so that is a bad sign. If there is a connection between the two of you, conversations will most likely flow. There are always a few awkward silences, but no one can really ever escape those.

A good idea is to drive with music on, so when the conversation dies down you can ask your date about the music that's playing. Another important thing to remember on a first date is how you present yourself. Everyone always talks about being casually late and things like that to appear cool, but in most cases those things don't matter. If anything, a girl appreciates a guy being on time. If you're going to run late, don't be more than five to ten minutes late. After that, it gets rude and obnoxious. The person will have spent time to get ready, and will be left sitting with nothing to do while waiting for you. If you do get stuck in a situation that makes you late, give a call or text there way.

Your appearance is also part of how you present yourself. Your ensemble is extremely important. You cant look like you tried too hard, but you cant look like a slob. If where you are going permits, a jean and cute shirt is appropriate for either sex. Often dark jeans are a better choice too. Light jeans can come off as trashy, or too casual. However if you are wearing a dark colored shirt, light jeans may work better. Your scent also is very important, as odd as that is. You don't wanna wear to much perfume or cologne, but putting it on can be a deal maker. People who smell good often are a huge catch.

Make sure you have a good time on your first date with someone. Its a great idea to show all sides of you if you can. Show that you are fun and spontaneous if you are, or sensitive and loving. Make sure not to come on too strong however or you may frighten your date away. The first date can open a door to a relationship or close it. Even if you don't want to be invested in a relationship and are looking to causally date, its still crucial.
