There are several important things you should consider before bringing the little guy home, or even before making a decision to buy a puppy dog in the first place. Here are a couple of things to think about.

How to Crate Train a Puppy: Put the crate in an area where you and/or the family spends time,Place bedding in a crate.,Introduce your puppy to the crate.,Let your puppy assume ownership of the crate.,Feed puppy in crate.

Most dogs will mature within the first six months that they are alive. When you have a female dog that you are trying to breed, you should understanding the whole breeding process. Females have two periods of time per year in which they will be in heat.

The time they are in heat will normally last anywhere from 6-12 days depending on the breed of the dog. When you let the dogs mate, you will have to wait a certain amount of time before you will know if the dog is pregnant.

Although you may not know at first, there are a number of signs that you can look for in order to tell if your dog is pregnant or not. One of the most prominent signs will be that your dog's teats will be swollen and more pronounced.

When raising puppies, you will find that it is pretty much impossible to housebreak them before 6 months of age. So when accidents occur, and they will occur, make sure you clean them up as soon as possible. Fresh puppy duty is much easier to clean and can also let you know about the health of the pups. You can see if parasites or foreign objects have found their way into the puppys system.

Here are five reasons why we recommend this method to all new dog owners: Dogs are den animals by nature. Providing a crate fulfills your pet's need for a space of his own.

A dog crate will make your task of house training your puppy much easier. Dogs, even very young ones will not soil their own area. If the crate is sized correctly for your puppy, he will learn to hold it till you can take him out to eliminate.

To give a decent abode where there is a cozy and dry place for the puppy to rest as well as making it feel safe. You can try by sprinkling a scent of its mum on a piece of cloth or toy and position it besides the puppy. Do not panic when it cries and as much as possible, do not run over just to soothe it or you will have to deal constantly with a whining puppy.

Is your puppy knowledge up to par? This is an especially important consideration for first time dog owners. You old dogs that have had pets before can skip this piece. While feeding, exercise, and grooming are important things for your dog, there are several other important points to consider as well.
