Safe guard yourself by investing in a power conditioner. Carry it with you irrespective where you go. If you use one live, it could be the exact thing that would save that favourite tool of yours. Its not a awful idea to get into the habit of using one all the time, even when you're home, to protect against power surges. If youre not utilising this then you might want to power with all batteries. If so, then dont forget to bring backups.

Things could get misplaced quite easily. So be sure to preserve your patches else where besides the genuine synthesiser. You should do this even if you dont have a live gig because something can go wrong with your synthesizer.
