Government Auctions - Gain a Competitive Advantage as an eBay Seller

By Sally Barber

Making a living selling items on eBay is one of the original and conceivably most effective ways to sell products and run a rewarding business online. Profiting this way use to be straight forward, however, over the years eBay has become over populated with sellers, making it difficult to track down items that are unique and inexpensive enough so that you can make a good profit. If you use Internet wholesalers, you are at a competitive disadvantage among eBayer's, because many receive volume discounted pricing on goods that you would have to compete against.

Let me recommend a method that would allow you to make more money then veteran eBayers. The government collects millions of items through many diverse sources such as bankruptcies, unpaid taxes, repossessed items, unclaimed items or government surplus that they simply want to quickly get rid of. You can acquire these items either online from government web sites or from live government auctions held locally across the US and Canada. Since these items don't bare a cost to the government, they aren't concerned about selling at high markups like a wholesaler is, so you can purchase items for far less then what they are worth.

Purchasing products at government auctions means you are buying goods that are not only distinctive but are deeply discounted as well. Government auctions provide a wide choice of items that complement eBay including items such as jewelry, electronics, office equipment, etc. Often the items are sold in lots or larger quantities which allows for a faster eBay set-up for the items. To give an example, at a government auction I recently attended an individual bought 11 ATM machines for $45 each which they sold for $467 each and another person bought 43 digital cameras for $600 which they auctioned off on eBay for a 700 percent profit.

Now if you haven't sold anything on eBay I would suggest going there and spending 15 minutes creating a free eBay account (see link below) and adding a fabricated sale item (simply follow eBay's prompts). You can go through the steps without finalizing and actually putting the item up for sale. This will help you to be familiar with how to auction off items on eBay and show you how effortless it is.

Then visit the Government Auction Review Site below and inspect which government auction site is the preferred one for locating government auctions and items listed at each (online and live auctions). Once you know the government auction site that will offer access to virtually unlimited items for you to resale, then enlist with that site.

All you have to do now is search for government auction sale items online and/or visit a local live government auction. Then purchase the sharply discounted items of interest and place them for sale in eBay to make a healthy profit. eBay's world wide viewership now has access to observe and purchase all of your products.

Congratulations, you are on route to what will undoubtedly be a very lucrative Internet business.
