A Free Computer Scan Could Be a Very Big Bargain

By Ed Lathrop

A person called me up to tell me her computer was running very slowly. The first thing I asked her was if she had a virus scanner installed on her computer and if she had been using it.

Sometimes people will have one installed and use it but not know they have one at all. The reason for this is both Windows XP and Vista will keep annoying you until you activate the antivirus program that came with the computer when it was new. Then after you do, the program works on autopilot.

Other types of malware like spyware and adware steal a computers resources which will slow down a computer as well. However, this womans virus scanner was one that would take care of spyware as well.

My recommendation was for her to find out if her problem was registry corruption. I told her to get a free scan to see if, indeed that was the problem. She told me she already had done so and it turns out it was a registry cleaner I know to be an excellent one. She said there were over 800 incidents of corruption the scanner found. Then she said she didnt get the license to activate the cleaners cleaning function because she thought it cost too much.

Actually, I dont know the end of the story but I do know this: registry corruption causes more computer speed problems than anything else I have ever seen and I have been in the computer repair business a long time. I also know registry cleaners just arent that expensive.

For certain, I know registry corruption, if left to build for a long period, has the ability to cripple a computer to the point the hard drive will need to be reformatted and Ive seen it happen.

I told her my recommendation would be to buy the license and get the registry cleaned. Then, I cordially said goodbye and hung up.

Anyway, I had made my recommendation to this woman and it really is up to her what she wants to do with her money and her computer. So, I politely wished her the best and then hung up the phone.

If I had registry corruption on my computer but I couldnt afford a registry cleaner, I would not use the computer until I could get the registry cleaned. Registry corruption breeds more registry corruption. So, using this computer will eventually put it out like a light!

Hi,

To keep the PC registry free from errors it is necessary to have best registry cleaners and install it. Scan the registry regularly with the free registry repair tool and it will fix the registry errors without much effort. The registry cleaner will scan the entire registry file, delete the outdated entries, remove traces of incomplete installations, de-fragment the registry to remove the empty spaces and clean the embedded keys created by malware.
