As you've probably guessed I have fallen for a few gimmicks online, promising wonderful things only to be left disappointed again!
There's plenty of sneaky things marketers create to get to to buy their products or sign up to their business. Most of them are totally legal, but some aren't as ethical as others.
When I first started out I was looking for an online home business opportunity. I came across many with the same sorts of promises and all were using the same sorts of techniques.
So, here's a basic guide of how they draw you in and attract you to them. This can make you a bit more aware of who is genuine and who's not.
Your first lesson is about the SALES FUNNEL:
Many websites you come across are SSSSOOOOOO long and there's a reason for this, but first let me explain. They are written by PROFESSIONAL COPYWRITERS. Some are paid thousands of dollars just to get them right.
They are paid the big bucks because they can convince people to buy just about anything. Most of us think were smart enough to see when were being SOLD to, but seriously they are so good, I have often found myself wasting half an hour of my life reading them.
The idea is to make you think whatever they're selling is the answer to all your problems. They'll do anything to pull at your heart strings. They also hook you in with all those testimonials, which I think are sometimes just a bit too good to be true.
It's kind of like hypnosis as you read all the way down to the bottom and before you know it you're reaching for your credit card.
This is just one of the tricks marketers use to seduce you. There are more, but I'll save them for my next few articles.
I eventually found the right online business opportunity for me and I love how it's changed my life and now I'm helping others do the same.
