A Guide To Online Surveys

By Ethel Miranda

No screaming boss, no late nights at the office, no honking horns in traffic and arriving late? You would be crazy not to like the idea of getting money from filling out online surveys, wouldn't you?

Every time you speak to your mom on the phone, she has now problem at all telling you her opinion of this or that, usually whether you are listening or not. But think of all those wasted dollars she is pouring into the ether! Consumer goods producers want their next big thing to be bought by as many people as possible, so pay work at home survey sites to find out what people like and don't like. So how does Mom get paid for opinions that she would otherwise tell you for free?

The good thing about cash for surveys sites is that they are not choosy at all in terms of the people they choose to fill them in. You don't need to show any special qualifications or go on any courses. After registering, and filling out some details on yourself and your interests, they will start to send you surveys. You may be compensated for your work directly on completion, or at the end of every month for example.

As money for online surveys is usually a small sum, you should aim to have a steady amount come in every week by joining up to as many reputable sites as you can handle. If done correctly, income could run up to the hundreds of dollars per month.

To make the most of your time filling out online surveys, you'll need to join quite a few. To get paid for your opinions you first need to make sure that yours are ones the site actually wants to hear - you may not match the right demographic or there may be many people similar to you.

Some sites are more reputable than others, and you should spend your first day 'on the job' just hunting down sites and reading online reviews. It seems that the best method is to join several of the bigger sites which will send you fewer surveys (they have thousands of registered applicants) but better cash, with the smaller ones, who will send you more but pay less.

You have to stick at it though - making cash from online surveys can be a frustrating experience at the beginning, when many sites test your commitment after you first join by restricting the frequency of surveys they send you as they look at the quality of your content.

After you've proven yourself, money for surveys may run from 2 to 20 dollars per survey, depending on the length of time it takes to fill it in. But be sure to first look at what they pay you (and when) before you register. Work at home surveys may pay in gift certificates, prizes, or monthly tombola draws for cash prizes, so choose what you are comfortable with.

Although the rewards, especially at the beginning, may not be up to much, the companies want you to get paid for your opinion for real - so don't give in to temptation and let your pet pigeon peck them out for you. Companies may run checks on your content.

These cash for surveys websites will send the producer's questionnaire to the group of people who have interests or match otherwise their target group. This means that if you have a passion for growing roses and making your own pottery, you may not get a survey on motorbikes.

Getting money for surveys may not make you a millionaire, but if you are able to get and fill in a fair amount of online surveys, it can provide you something extra for those nasty housekeeping bills.
