UK Outsourcing Web Design & Search Engine Optimization

By Kris Russell

Having run a successful web design business for some years, I'm very aware of the benefits of UK outsourcing, particularly in the fields of web design and of search engine optimization. Whatever the nature of your business, the chances are high that, like me, you've felt the pinch both in terms of the cost of employing specialists in the many related fields, and in delivering goods that match the high expectations of today's customers.

There's no doubt that, whatever the nature of your online business, you've noticed a huge change in the level of expertise and specialism needed. A few years ago a passing knowledge of HTML was about all that was needed to create a website. But today that's all changed, and with an increased emphasis on security and the integration of ecommerce solutions into full websites, as well as customized WordPress templates, blogs and other media streams and formats, the job of web design is increasingly complex.

But of all the changes that the world of web design has witnessed, perhaps the biggest and most significant to date has been the advent and blossoming of search engine optimization. Whether you need a customized WordPress template, a fully integrated, secure ecommerce solution or simply a basic online presence, the chances are that without effective search engine optimization you're sunk.

As with most small web design firms, the challenge over the past few years has been to raise the whole game as far as providing a full web service is concerned. But this tends to require the services of a large number of specialists, and for a small business it simply isn't feasible to employ a full time search engine optimization specialist, as well as someone able to create customized WordPress templates, and program secure, reliable ecommerce solutions for clients.

The ideal solution is, of course, to outsource such specialised tasks as and when required. But this in itself presents a number of difficulties. The first is that, as a UK firm, I want to choose UK outsourcing rather than dealing with people who may be on a different continent. Being able to chat with the people, or even meet up with them, is important. But just as important is finding an outsourcing company who understand the specific issues facing UK businesses.

The problem with outsourcing outside of the UK is that those you end up working with don't necessarily have the linguistic expertise and familiarity that is so important when targeting a UK audience. Subtle differences in the use of language, including colloquialisms and UK specific vocabulary can make a huge difference. Search engines can tell the difference between a UK oriented site and one that is not as specific. What's needed is a UK outsourcing company that knows its pants from its trousers.

The good news is that when it comes to UK outsourcing, there are excellent companies available. I found one such company able to produce excellent resources just as I needed them. From first class search engine optimization to professionally designed WordPress templates, and even fully integrated, secure ecommerce solutions. Based in the UK they're easily contactable, with no worries regarding time zone issues, and their use of English is not only excellent, but targets UK search phrases more effectively.

Clearly UK outsourcing is beneficial, but what I also needed was a company that doesn't then go and stamp its name on everything it produces. I want a company that can produce WordPress templates, program ecommerce solutions and carry out full search engine optimization, but remain completely invisible as far as my clients are concerned. The company I deal with do exactly that - they deal with me, not my clients, allowing me to rebrand everything and offer a fully effective, highly professional and fully UK oriented web design service.
