Protocal: In Protocal Goldie Hawn becomes an inadvertent heroine (and ovemight star) who's satisfied with her do nothing government job. She eventually is used as a pawn for handling a Middle Eastern potentate. Cast includes Goldie Hawn, Chris Sarandon, Richard Romanus, Andre Gregory, Gail Strickland, Cliff De Youthful, Keith Szarabajka, Ed Begley, Jr., and James Staley. (96 minutes, 1984)
Hold Back Tomorrow: This is another of Haas' oddball cheaply made dramas. This one is about a condemned killer who weds a gal on the day before he is put to death. Cast includes Cleo Moore, John Agar, Frank de Kova, Harry Guardino, and Jan Englund. (75 minutes, 1955)
Ironweed: William Kennedy adjusted his Pulitzer Treasure-triumphing novel in reference to road individuals, set in Albany, N.Y., 1938. Nicholson plays a guy trying to come to terms with the life he turned his back on years ago. Streep is his longtime friend who, like him, can't stay off the bottle for long. Cast includes Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep, Carroll Baker, Michael O'Keefe, Diane Venora, Fred Gwynne, Margaret Whitton, Tom Delays, Jake Dengel, Nathan' Aisle, James Gammon, Joe Grifasi, Bethel Leslie, Ted Levine, and Frank Whaley. Stamboul Quest: Exotic amalgamation of romance and intrigue with German agent Loy finding that he is in love with American scholar Brent in WWI Turkey. The Age of Innocence: Humble although powerful rendition of Edith Wharton's novel in reference to an obstructed romance between an involved lawyer and a divorcee, in 1870s Manhattan. Starts off with a super Jazz Age montage opening, then gets slowed down in static, stagy therapy as older Boles interconnects the tale of his ill-fated event to his grandson. Cast includes Irene Dunne, John Boles, Lionel Atwill, Helen Westley, Laura Wish Teams, and Julie Haydon. (81 minutes, 1934)
Blaze of Noon: A hokey tale of Holden torn between his spouse (Baxter) and his real love, flying. Cast includes Anne Baxter, William Holden, Sonny Tufts, William Bendix, and Sterling Hayden. (91 minutes, 1987)
Hoosiers: Hackman gets a last chance job coaching a very small Indiana high school basketball team in the 1950s, and faces the duel tests of bringing the team to the state final and personal redemption. This story is loosly based on an actual team from a small town in Indiana that played for the state title.
