A Little About Swimming Pool Lights

There are many lighting options available to light up a swimming pool. With a huge variety of lighting fixtures, you can make your swimming pool stand out and that too without spending a lot of money.

Few things are as mesmerizing as the soft glow of underwater pool lights, particularly at night. Floating pool lights give a magical glow to nighttime swimming. And with the many choices of solar swimming pool lights, they can be a very energy efficient choice as well.

The major categories of pool lights are : in-ground pool lights, above ground pool lights, fiber optic lights, LED pool lights, fountain lights, and landscape lighting. Clearly, there is scope to be very creative using pool lighting.

Fiber optic pool lights create a multi colored lighting effect. They are generally very bright lights and the installation part is a bit complicated. LED lights are the latest trend for pool lighting and is being preferred by many now a days.

Pool lights make your outdoor space a more inviting one. It makes the area look more attractive and gives a good impression to the guests. Besides this, it is also good from safety pint of view.

If you have a pool deck , you can start with it. There are various types of solar deck lights available that you can use there. One of the biggest advantage of using solar lights is these are environment friendly lights and are economical.

You should carefully plan the lighting design. The entire pool area should be visible. The pool steps should be well lit. The entry point and the sitting areas should also be well illuminated. Make sure that the lights are so placed that glare is avoided. Basically the lights should be evenly distributed all over the place, including the corners.

Besides the general illumination purpose, you can use different pool lights for creating different moods and environment. You can use soft and dim lights for a relaxed feel where as bright lights for exercise purposes. With different kinds of pool lights you can make your swimming pool look more attractive.
