Donald Trump does not shy away from the press. He made headlines again by buying the network marketing business, Ideal Health. Later in the fall he is going to launch the company as the Trump Network. Complaints about about this new development, but they are aimed more at Donald Trump himself, and not with the company.
First among the Trump Network complaints are those who remember what Donald Trump has said about multi-level marketing in the past. Way back when Johnny Carson hosted The Tonight Show, Donald Trump was a guest. He openly mocked the MLM Company Amway, and the people involved in that business.
Just a few years ago, Oprah Winfrey reportedly asked Donald Trump what he would do if he became bankrupt again. He said he'd start an MLM. The audience went "booooo", and he said, "That's why I'm sitting up here and you're sitting down there." Some of that Trump charm to warm the heart. But we've seen what's happened to real estate, should we really have Trump Network complaints now?
The company is trying hard to make sure there are no Trump Network complaints about distribution. They are crunching numbers like crazy to make sure they have enough products ready when they launch in November.
Trump Network complaints will be aimed from two different directions, since the company is also a network marketing company. They will either come from unhappy customers who buy the products, or from the members of the marketing aspect of the company. If there are strong policies in place in the company before hand, they should not have much trouble.
Here is my gripe for the Trump Network complaint department. It isn't really aimed at the Trump Network, but it is aimed at all multi-level marketing companies. It is that these companies don't give their members enough knowledge about how to sell effectively.
To succeed with multi-level marketing, you need to have a well-rounded marketing education. MLM companies tend to focus only on those techniques that make them the most sales. Members miss out on thousands of dollars they could have had, and they don't learn new marketing techniques as they arise.
Thanks to the internet, advances in marketing can literally happen over night, and these big companies just can't adjust fast enough to change their training materials. Take an online marketing course, and get yourself up to speed with marketing in 2009.
