Benefits Of Preserving Water

By Scott Rodgers

Conserve water? But why? What could I do alone? When it comes to conserving water all these things might come to your mind. But always keep one thing in mind that it is only you who can take a step forward for the same and motivate others as well.

But we can't do anything just by sitting and thinking. We need to change our lifestyle. If we do a little in conserving water, we can make a huge difference to the environment. We have talked a lot about water conservation, but what does water conservation actually means?

Controlling, protecting, managing and planning for the wise use of water resources is basically water conservation. Water conservation is not a single person's job, but it is the responsibility of each and every individual.

Water is used in the production of everything you buy and everything you eat. So, it is the main constituent of food and energy in our body. Life without water is just not possible. Hence, we must save water today so that it will be available to us in the future.

It must be clear by now that water is base of our life without which we cannot think of living. So take all possible steps for conserving water like recycling of water, use of water saving showers and flush system, regular checking of leakage etc.

Although 71% of earth's surface is covered with water but only 1% of this is fit for human requirements. 97% of available water contains salt and is present in oceans, remaining 2% of fresh water is locked in frozen ice caps. Surviving without water for more than a week is not possible for any individual.

We can now understand the situation very well that how people are relying on such a small percentage of water and how important is to conserve our water. We should not pollute the available water, as we don't have any other source of it. We must learn to save water for our future generation now.

Increasing population is a threat for water availability. But, a lot can be done to reduce water consumption. There are many things that we can do to conserve water by a little bit of extra effort. Save the water, its all we've got!
