Common Mistakes with SEO

By Justine Mercklicky

A great many SEO beginners, and even a number of professionals, continue to commit the same mistakes when they try to use SEO, thereby making it harder for them to get the results that they desire for their website's page ranking.

Incorrect or immaterial keywords: You can't expect often used keywords to drive people to your website if they aren't pertinent to the website's written content, but a great many people still do this. You may be in a position to generate traffic using this type of method, but since you are not supplying pertinent written content based on your keyword, people visiting your site will just end up leaving simply because you are not supplying any subject matter that they are seeking. You are in reality getting visitors that is not even interested in your site or its subject matter, so you just end up with nothing.

Overuse of keywords~Keywords that are overused: Using the keywords to frequently in the subject matter of your website, the title, header and meta tags is One Other error that a great many people make. Improving a websites ranking this way doesn't work as clogging a website with keywords doesn't fool the search engines the least bit. Search engines view this sort of behavior as 'spamming' and if you do be ready to pay the supreme price - blackballing from the search engine's index is the result.

Good or relevant content missing: People are driven to go to your site with the keywords that you have preferred, but it's your website's written content that they will be looking for. So, make sure that whatever keywords you have preferred to employ, those keywords will direct them to relevant web content in your website. Take the time to write good and relevant content in order to make certain that your website would continue to do well against others offering the same thing. Remember that the only way that you are able to get your website to stand out against other sites would be your website's written content.

Graphic intensive websites: Currently search engines view textual content to see it's relevance so if you have a graphic intensive site you will be forfeiting your ranking in the index as it doesn't mean anything to the web spiders that are crawling it, regardless of how good they are. A great many websites that have high graphic subject matter will have their site bypassed by the web spiders because they aren't programmed to look at it. To do better than other website owners you need to attend to these SEO mistakes.
