If You're Not Backing Up Your Wii Games, You're Taking a Huge Risk

By Smith Tate

When you first learn how to copy Wii games, it's like a veil has been lifted from your eyes. The grass is greener. The sky is bluer. Ok, so maybe that's an exaggeration. Regardless, learning how to copy these games can provide you with a whole new set of possibilities. For one, you're able to split the costs of games with your friends. For another, you're no longer beholden to fragile Wii discs. If you've made backup copies, then when one breaks, you simply replace it with a copy!

When you've done this, there is no reason to go out and blow your hard earned dough on an additional copy of a game that you've already spent hard earned money on. To get started in your new game copying pursuits, there are a few items that you'll need to gather. First, you'll need a Wii console. You'll also, obviously, need a Wii game to copy! Next, you need a PC or Mac with a CD or DVD burner. You'll also need a game copy application, as well as a blank disc. When you've gathered those items, you're ready to start copying.

The game copying application that I mentioned is probably the most critical component when it comes to ensuring game copying success. The companies that make games are getting smarter all the time when it comes to encrypting their games to prevent copying. While making copies for personal use is legal, the manufacturers don't have to make it easy. And this is where the game copy apps come in. They help you to not only burn the disc in a format that the Wii will think is an original disc; they also get past the encryption. Simply do a search on Google and you should be able to find this software.

Regardless of the software, it ought to work on any discs. Some are made for any video game consoles while others are designed solely for the Nintendo Wii. In addition, the application may or may not be able to handle foreign games. Certain software versions will even make it possible for individuals to make copies of movie DVDs, music CDs, and other encrypted files. Once again, you just need to do your due diligence.

Also - I can't stress enough how critical it is to have an optical drive on your PC or Mac that can read Wii games. If your CD/DVD burner can't read them, you will become very frustrated thinking that you're doing something wrong, when it's actually a computer issue. However, most modern optical drives are able to read them. If your drive can read a DVD, then odds are it can read a Wii game.

After you purchase the game copy application that you've decided fits your circumstances the best, you'll need to download it and install it onto your computer. The installation is very simple. If you've ever installed a .exe application before, you should have no trouble with it. Just accept all of the defaults (hit next whenever it asks you). After that, it will walk you through ripping your Wii game, and will prompt you to put in a blank disc when it's time.

This process is very easy and it shouldn't take long at all. The software will rip every last piece of data off of the Nintendo Wii game and burn it onto your computer's desktop. You'll place the blank optical media disc into the DVD drive and in a short time, you'll have your first backed up Wii game. Put it into your Wii system and it should function just like the original disc you were using.

Learning how to copy Wii games is easy and hassle-free. It involves almost no time at all and, even though the program isn't free, it lets you save you a lot more. Purchase the software right now and begin playing more games than your budget has ever allowed you to before!
